VISITS DURING THE YAOUNDE TOUR

Five important personalities WITHIN the national territory received the UB Choir during the Grand tour in Yaounde from the 12th to the 20th of July 2009
Dr EKEKE MONONO MARTIN
We arrived his Bastos lodge on Thursday 16th of July at 6: PM
Dr and his family were very welcoming. His friends were amazed at the performance which was wonderful. He entertained us with more than enough food and drinks. What marked me most were the nice words in his welcome message.
“music is a universal language that transcends through civilizations. No single being can listen to good music, well sung and stay indifferent”.
Certainly Dr Monono was touched. He supported us and promised to be part of our concert. He sat in front.
THE NIGERIAN HIGH COMMISIONER
We visited the embassy at Friday 17th of July at 4: PM. The Nigerian high commissioner was very welcoming and diplomatic in his manner of approach. After singing some powerful songs and the Ibo medley, we savored the delicious meals offered while listening to our host. He blessed us with support and encouraged us look onto the opportunities available in both countries. He also thanked our efforts to strengthen the unity between Cameroon and Nigeria. He looks forward to see UB Choir perform in Nigeria some day.
Mr PETER ESOKA
We visited this famous CRTV reporter just a few hours to our concert that was on Saturday the 18th at 4PM
He was so happy as the UB Choir came just in time to spice up the BOBA meeting he was hosting.
He requested and personally conducted the song “Now thank we” doing it like a maestro.

Mr NGAFESON
How could we come to Yaounde without visiting the father of former chorister Nora Ngaf? After attending the Sunday services the buses took us to our fathers home.
When you are in the premises of someone in charge of justice you may think even answering a phone call can lead you to jail, but it’s far from that. He is a very simply person who took much time to advice us to stay off criminality, emphasizing that jail is not a place for any youth.
H.E THE PRIME MINISTER
Prime Minister Philemon Yang welcomed us into His prime ministerial lodge on the same Sunday at about 3 PM. He thanked us for the visit and advised us to use our youthful days judiciously and to make good use of the fact that we are students from the University of Buea, a place whose glory is reflected in the outcomes.
The vice chancellor and Pro Chancellor of the University of Buea were also part of this visit. He entertained, supported and accepted to take some group photographs with the UB Choir.
We would have loved to do more visits but time was a sure limiting factor.
We hope to go to more places to sing with joy for the glory of God’s name when next we come to Yaounde.
